I'm Mike McCoy. I'm an orthopedic surgeon with Cotton O'Neil in Sports Medicine and I've been here for about 40 years, actually. What procedures do you specialize in?
Half of what I do are general orthopedics: broken arms, broken wrists. But the other half is adult reconstruction replacing hips and knees and shoulders.
When I came to town, I had a sports medicine fellowship. I've done lots of anterior cruciate and knee ligament injuries. But as I've gotten older, my patients have gotten older, and mostly what I do now are joint reconstructions - especially hips and knees.
Why should patients trust you with their care?
I've got a pretty long track record. I've taken care of quite a few 4-generation families. And total hips and total knees - I've done thousands of them. I've got 2 hips and 2 knees myself, so I've been through the operation myself.
